Our Ox Cart Adventures tours provide you with the opportunity to get a glimpse of the traditional way of life in Cambodia, learn about our culture and enjoy the company of friendly local villagers. Only a short trip (7km) from Siem Reap, Chreav village is a traditional and poor community situated in picturesque rice fields and surroundings.
The villagers mainly rely on fishing and farming for survival. As we meander along small tracks through the village on an ox cart one of our professional guides will explain about the way of life in the village and Cambodian Culture. Through our tours we assist the local community by providing jobs and development support for the people most in need. The traditional ox cart has been an important feature in Cambodian culture for hundreds of years. By using these carts for our tours we also aim to stop them from disappearing and retain them in our culture.
The Oxcart Sunrise Tour is a special tour where you will not only enjoy the sunrise, but also see the village come to life.
This tour starts early, around 5:00 am (start times vary depending on the season), to ensure enough time to arrive at Chreav village, and travel by ox cart to a prime position to enjoy the sun rise over the rice fields.
After enjoying the sunrise we will tour through the village, seeing local people going about their daily life.
At the end of the tour we will bring you back to your hotel, around 7am.
