Take a trip to Kampong Phluk floating village and see locals' unique lifestyle. Float through the village in wet season and onto the Tonle Sap lake to see the sunset.
Kampong Phluk is another must see when visiting Siem Reap. It makes a great low-pressure afternoon and evening, perfect for a break from the early start visits to temples. Amazing in its own right, it is not only home to families, fishermen and school children, but a show of human skill.
The village people's way of life is centre around their homes and school which are positioned to sustain living in the area. The homes are built upon stilts and appear to float when the water rises. Boats are the preferred method of transport. You can spend some time on foot, and take a boat through the village, and one on to Tonle Sap lake, which is the largest in Asia.
In wet season starting from May each year, there is also the option to take a canoe into the floating forest, which is a highlight of the journey for many people. We can show you how to get the most out of your visit at any time of the year, timing perfectly the sunset which marks the beginning of the end.
(please noted from March to June ) )it was the dry season also the water level are lowest 2metter hight from river it seem look a bit dry every where ,there's an opportunity to walk along the main street to see local people's daily lives and the creation of new houses. They are content with their way of life and happy to see foreigners because tourism is an important part of the local economy.
The floating restaurant has high standards of food at affordable prices, and whether you want to eat there or sip a drink as the sun sets, you will be able watch and enjoy.
The tour begins in early afternoon, and you will walk back to the bus and make your way into Siem Reap city after sunset, so this can be ideal for either those with not much or a lot to do before or after, such as arrive from or catch a flight. The tour is increasingly popular as a very affordable but valuable Siem Reap Experience.
